The gite "La Roseraie" is situated in Fraire, midst the Valleys of the Living Water, between the Samber and Maas. The region offers a pleasant atmosphere of the Ardennes with its many forests, watercourses and open fields.
The festive life of Fraire is being regulated by four yearly festivals, of which the biggest one is the military procession "Saint-Ghislain". It takes place every year in July.
In the year 2005 the village of Fraire received the trophee of "Quality Village" for the efforts done towards the historical value of the village.
There are countless activities in and around the village which can be enjoyed as walks through the fields and forests, mountenbiking, fishing in ponds, pétanque, horseriding, etc. Many historical sites are worth your visit, such as the citadells, castles, Roman bridges, etc. At a stone's throw you can find the "Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure", the biggest lakes of Belgium, where many activities can be enjoyed as sailing, jetski and swimming. If the lakewater is too cold, you could always pay a visit to the nearby pool with sauna, bubblebath and hammam.
